Are you a stay at home mom? Maybe you are expecting your first child and plan to stay at home but would like to earn extra money from home. If you are a stay at home mom or soon to be, you are probably no doubt planning ahead for the big changes that will take place in your life. You may even be wondering if there are any practical ways that you can earn money at home. I am not talking about selling stuff on Ebay or Amazon, which a lot of people do to earn income from home. I have done this as well myself but I eventually ran out of stuff to sell and I also wanted tokeep the things I had. If you feel the same way too, then I have a few alternatives for you that will not involve you selling your personal items to others over the Internet and then having to wait until someone buys them for you to earn money.

If you have small children and are limited in what you can do and how much time you can devote online, you can always try working in crowdsourcing and completing micro tasks from home. This is very popular because there are little to no demands on your time. You can complete them whenever you have time and do as many or as few as you want. No commitments or schedules to keep. You will get paid for the work that you complete. Some companies that will pay you to do this are Clickworker, Cloud Crowd, Microworkers, Job Boy, Short Task, and Amazon Mturk.

Here are a few other ideas for stay at home moms who would like to earn extra money from home.

1. Writing Articles or Blogging

Textbroker, iwriter, or LondonBrokers, Families.com, and Write.com are a few companies that will pay you to write short articles on a variety of topics online. If you enjoy writing, you should consider working for one of these publishing companies. You get to pick and choose when you accept assignments, so you can make as much or as little money as you'd like to make. You get paid every week through PayPal. If the company likes your work, you get a promotion because you can then accept higher paying jobs. You will get paid more for each assignment every week.

2. Data Entry

Virtualbee, Great American Opportunities, and Gorge Warehouse are a few legit companies that actually hires data entry keyers to work from home. Virtualbee pays $6 per hour and sometimes more depending upon how fast you type. They don't require you to pay any money to join the company, and there is never a commitment to work for them. All you need to work for them is an internet connection and a computer. You'll have to take a test in order to join. They have been allowing people to work from home for the past decade. Great American Opportunities pays around $10 per hour.

3. Avon and Stella & Dot

Both of these companies are legitimate and will help you to start your own business selling cosmetics, jewelry, personal care products and other items online from your home or both. 4. Consultant

Are you an expert or have knowledge that you can share with others. You could be a consultant online and help people start their own businesses, manage their money, deal with friendships and relationships, in parenting, starting their own website, or in almost any area. You could charge a consultant fee for your expertise and work practically your very own schedule.

5. Online Tutoring

If you enjoy teaching children, you would probably enjoy online tutoring. You can set up a web cam or just have a Skype conversation in order to do the tutoring. Nothing is impossible when it comes to starting your own business. Online tutoring will allow you the opportunity to help more people. 6. Babysitting
In some states, you need a permit to open your own daycare business. You could advertise your business on the internet, but this not always necessary. Sometimes, it may be easier to get babysitting gigs simply by asking your friends if they need a babysitter. The one advantage about this working in this field is that you can watch your own kids and their kids at the same time.

7. Medical Transcriptionist

The duties of a medical transcriptionist changes from case to case; however, there are two kinds of transcriptionists that usually get hired for the job. You may be asked to translate the medical information from one language to another. You may be asked to translate the official medical talk into laymen's terms. This is an important job because you can't get the medical information wrong. There are numerous medical transcription jobs available online that are legitimate.

8. General Translations

Today, you can get any information translated from one language to another using a computerized system. The problem with the computerized system is that it may not translate the information as well as you'd like it to translate the information. This is the reason that a lot of translation companies are looking for a human translator. If you don't think that the computer did a good job with your translation, you can always ask a human to do the translation for you. 9. General Surveys

Of course, Twitter is not the only way that you can earn money but it is one of the fastest and simplest ways to monetize your social media traffic. I have included a list of some other ways that you can earn money right from your computer that takes very minimal effort to accomplish. Some include taking surveys, selling your stuff, or even using your smartphone. Here are a few more ideas you can try.

Parent Speak - Parent Speak is an online community that will pay you cash to complete surveys from home. Most surveys pay at least $1 but I have done some that only took 15 minutes and was paid $8.

Sponsored Tweets - If you are on Twitter and have at least 50 followers you can earn extra money through this company. They will pay you to tweet out messages to your followers online. Some can even earn up to $20 per tweet and much more to do something that takes only a few seconds of your time.

Pay4Tweet - This is another company that you can use to monetize your twitter traffic. You can sign up to be a publisher and allow people to pay to advertise on your Twitter page in the form of a tweet. It is kind of the reverse of Sponsored tweets because people will actually pay you to tweet on your page instead of you posting ads to your twitter followers. Both methods can be effective.

Slice the Pie

Get paid to listen to music right from your computer. You pick the genres of music that you like to listen to and they will play songs that you can write a short review on for cash. How to earn $150 a week on Youtube!

Let me first start this post by stating that it was never my goal to make YouTube videos because I am a very shy, reserved person. I never even thought that I would earn around $150 a week doing this but I do want to share my experience with you guys and show you that anyone can make money doing YouTube videos. This article will show you how I got started and how you can do this too.

In the Beginning

I toyed with the idea of making YouTube videos in my head for a few months before I actually made one. I watched YouTube myself and I noticed that there were a lot of people on YouTube talking about how to make money online but there was not a channel dedicated to helping people find legitimate work at home jobs or at least not a channel that I knew of, so I decided that even though I already had a website that explored this topic there was a great need to introduce this on YouTube. I was somewhat afraid and nervous about exposing myself to the public, but I swallowed my pride and made a video and focused more on the message that I was delivering rather than my appearance. I figured that I didn't have a makeup channel so I wouldn't have the pressure to live up to looking a certain way, I would just be myself. Although I have decided to dress up my face a little for the camera so that I won't fade out in the background. I made and published my first video on YouTube January 16, 2012 on the Super2Moms channel. I don't particularly like the name but I have to stick with because I can't change it unless I add another channel and come up with a new name. I have heard a lot of people say that making money online is just not factual. There is no possible way to do this and my video was telling people the exact opposite. So what's next? I came up with a strategy.

My Strategy

I decided to treat my videos that same way I would by blog and website. To create content on a regular basis to give my readers, subscribers, etc. something to look forward to. I would make a video every week. I am constantly researching how to make money from home, the latest work at home jobs, and doing some of the things that I was talking about myself so now I could use this video platform to do the very same thing. I also decided to make a short outline of some things that I would talk about for the week. Did it work? For a while, I didn't have any subscribers and so I thought that maybe I should give up but as the saying goes patience is a virtue and if you stick with it, it can pay off. After a couple of months I started to get comments, a couple of subscribers, and I even saw some earnings listed on my Google Adsense account under "Hosted Adsense for Content". I had no idea what this was until I investigated and learned that it was from my YouTube videos. I was encouraged by this and continued to make videos. Here are some more strategies that I incorporated for my videos:

I improved the lighting in my videos
I do not edit my videos to omit stumbling over words and mistakes. My videos are not perfect but neither am I.
I share them on social media.
I embedded a video library on my website so that they can be watched there.
Some of the content that I share on my YouTube channel is specifically for my subscribers.
I incorporate the screen capture method is some of my videos to show how to do something. One of my most popular videos was on how to pass the test for Virtualbee (you can watch it here if you like). A legit data entry company that you can do from home.

How you can accomplish this too

I wrote this post to show you that you can do this too. As a matter of fact, you could even earn way much more than I have or ever will! How? If you have a camera, webcam iphone or android phone that will take videos you can start your own YouTube channel and earn money online. It may be easier than you think and best of all is that it will not cost you anything. Here is how you can get started today!

Create an account on YouTube with your username and password.
Come up with a unique name for your channel that will be reflective of your videos.
Start making videos and upload them to Youtube
Almost anyone can be a YouTube partner. YouTube will ask if you want to monetize (earn money from your videos) and you will just check yes and agree to their terms of service and advertising will run along with your videos automatically.
Obtain a Google Adsense account. If you don't already have one, once you allow for your videos to be monetized YouTube/Google will assist you in completing this step.

Tips to Making YouTube Videos

I am not an expert by any means but here are a couple of tips about making and uploading YouTube videos that I thought would be helpful in this post.

Make sure your videos are stable. If it means to use a tripod, webcam that is hard wired to your computer, whatever it takes. This will make for a good, stable, quality video presentation.
Just be natural and try to focus on your topic.
Look at the camera. Try not to turn away unless you are reading from your notes, script, etc.
Try to keep your videos under 10 minutes if you can. If for some reason, your video needs to be longer, you can make 2 parts to the video. You can do this by recording and uploading one and repeating this step for the second part.
Try to record when there is less activity and noise at home, if at all possible.

If you have something that you would like to share with others and you want to get your message out there, YouTube is a great place to start. You can earn passive income every week without having to write or blog. Don't be afraid if you find that someone else has a channel that is centered around yours. That is okay because everyone is different and you can bring out and highlight certain things that they may not have thought of. You have your own unique style that separates you from others regardless if it happens to be on the same subject. Also, don't be afraid to make mistakes. Isn't that what life is all about. You will learn from them and grow. This article proves that you don't necessarily have to be a YouTube sensation to earn money from YouTube.

If you live outside the United States and have access to a computer you could actually earn extra money for your time spent online. You could either work from home full time, part time, or complete a few gigs for extra cash. Some companies that do hire globally may specify that you will have to live in a particular country, so make sure that you read all of the requirements and details before you apply online. Nichols Research is looking for People ages 25-65 for an upcoming research study regarding beverages.

This study will be an online blog discussion taking place Tuesday, April 2nd - Thursday, April 4th.

You will need to blog for a total of 3 hours (1 hour per day) and qualified participants will receive a $150.00 VISA Card, as a thank you for their time and opinions.

20/20 Research has another upcoming online study. They are currently conducting a new research study regarding HOME IMPROVEMENT (Study 13-0313) and would like to invite men and women, 18 or older to participate in a live "virtual" focus group discussion.

This discussion will take place on Wednesday, March 27th in a secure online site and will require you to participate for 90 minutes with a small group of others using a web cam.
